Allison Green was born in Philadelphia and grew up in a nearby rural suburb. Throughout her childhood Green lived on the periphery of a lush forest, an experience which has greatly impacted the art she is best known for today. Currently Green resides and works in downtown Jersey City, where she creates large-scale oil paintings intertwining themes from nature. Green’s work is represented by Susan Eley Fine Art in New York City, and her first solo exhibition, “Deeply Rooted”, opened in March 2011. To date, she has had three solo exhibitions at SEFA. In addition, her work has been featured in numerous art fairs and is represented in private collections internationally. Green's paintings are also included in the Brooklyn Museum Elizabeth Sackler Feminist Art Base.
Green holds a BA from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Fine Art and Women’s Studies. She also studied at Studio Art Centers International (SACI) in Florence, Italy in 1995.
